Tim Schlick
Co-Head Strategic Planning
DDB Greater China Group

To say that Tim has an interest in marketing strategy and integrated communications, is a bit like saying that fish like to swim.

He started his career as a management consultant at Accenture 15 years ago, where he specialized in Business Process
Re-Engineering and CRM.  In 2000 he joined McCann Erickson Worldgroup to help launch MRM Partners and establish its strategy department. Three years later, he joined McCann Worldgroup, where he was responsible for the integration of all group agencies and driving overall strategy.  In this role he accomplished the BtL-integration and coordination of 17 markets in Europe for General Motors, helped Nestlé articulate an across-the-brand strategy, in addition to winning Microsoft's Direct and Online business for Austria, Germany and Switzerland, which he subsequently turned into a 25 -person agency in Munich.

Driven by curiosity, he joined the world of media and ran Omnicom's OMD 4CE in Dusseldorf, where he later was appointed Head of New Business for the entire Omnicom Media Group.

In 2006 Tim returned to McCann, to launch McCann Momentum - an agency specializing in retail marketing, promotion, sponsorship and branded entertainment, where he managed to build a five-city, 30 person operation in only one year. In addition to his role as MD, he took over the strategy lead and took a deep-dive into consumer behavior at POS - discovering how women shop for cosmetics for Coty and how to boost beer sales for InBev.

With a desire to find out whether he could branch out on his own, he launched two distinct start-ups in 2009 that succeeded in breaking-even after a mere 10 months - only to realize that he actually does prefer working in a global agency setting.  He went out to look for an exciting international opportunity, which he found at DDB China as the new Head of Strategic Planning. In March 2011, following the creation of DDB Greater China, Tim was promoted to Co-Head of Strategic Planning, DDB Greater China Group.

During his career he has worked with a variety of clients, such as General Motors, Microsoft, Nestle, Credit Suisse, Mercedes-Benz, Sony Music, American Express, Deutsche Bank and Lufthansa.
